What happens if there is bad weather?

The weather is something that we have no control over. If it is raining or calm, we will go sailing, however we will not go out if the conditions are deemed to be dangerous. From our experience, our definition of “dangerous” is an average wind speed of 30 knots or above measured from our base at the Royal Perth Yacht Club and/or lightning.

Can we charter yachts on weekends?

Generally our corporate sailing programs are held Monday – Friday. However we are more than happy to discuss how we could tailor a weekend package to suit your needs.

Do you arrange events to Rottnest Island?

Unfortunately not, as our yachts are surveyed for charter within the Swan River only.

Do you start or finish events at other yacht clubs?

If you wish to start or finish your event from another yacht club on the Swan River we are more than happy to do so. However an additional cost will apply to cover the cost of transporting the yachts to and from the location. Please note that the extremities of our operating area are East Fremantle Yacht Club, the Narrows Bridge and Canning Bridge.

What is the Royal Perth Yacht Club’s dress code?

For outdoor functions the Club dress code is casual. For indoor functions the dress code is smart casual, with no thongs or hats.

Are there showers or change rooms available?

Yes there are change rooms and showers available at the yacht club.

Will I get wet?

Unless it is raining, the chance of getting wet is slim. A small amount of spray may come over the side of the yacht, however it is generally very minor.
